About

My origin story begins in the quaint seaside town of Mitchells Plain where I was born and spent my formative years and completed my schooling. After school I attended the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and completed a Btech Degree in Management with my majors being Admin and Financial Management.
Why did I pursue this degree you might ask? Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time, I was unsure of what I wanted to study but I had a strong desire to study something and the rest as they say is history.

Once my studies were completed I started working in the banking industry at one of the major banks in South Africa. I always had a keen interest in technology and programming however I had the misconception that one had to be a mathematics genius to pursue a career in the field.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I used my "free" time to complete various short free courses in HTML, CSS and Javascript. This is when I realized that I can pursue a career in this field albeit difficult, it is very much possible. I completed a full-stack bootcamp in Web Development as this area really interested me because I was able to build websites and user interfaces from scratch.

After completion of the bootcamp, I obtained employment at one of the top providers of tech education in Africa. For the past year and six months I have been working as a code reviewer/mentor where I assist students who like me, want to pursue their dream of making a career in tech.
